NC State Scores for Value

NC State is a great value for both in-state and out-of-state students, according to an annual ranking published by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance this week.

The university places 16th in the nation for in-state students and 15th for out-of-state students on the 2014 list, which identifies the top 100 public schools that combine outstanding academic programs with economic value, a traditional characteristic of NC State.

The university’s net cost per year after need-based financial aid totals just $9,338 for North Carolina students, making it one of only 16 institutions on the list costing under $10,000 annually.

To create the list, Kiplinger’s measures admission rate, four-year graduation rate, average debt at graduation and net cost. NC State ranked 21st for in-state students and 25th for out-of-state students last year.
