NC State is one of 35 institutions named to a list of bicycle-friendly universities by the League of American Bicyclists. NC State joined three other North Carolina universities at the bronze level: Duke, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Platinum award-winner Stanford University tops the list.
“As universities compete for students and status, becoming more bicycle-friendly is a winning strategy that energizes and invigorates staff and the student body,” said Andy Clarke, President of the League of American Bicyclists.
The organization provided NC State with two street signs to promote its bicycle-friendly status. One will be posted on Centennial Campus and one on Dan Allen Drive, according to University Transportation.
