NC State will hold a tailgate in appreciation of its dedicated employees and their families on Saturday, Oct. 8, before the Central Michigan football game.
More than 3,000 tickets will also be given away via lottery, with parking passes available for the first 500 names drawn. Register online by Thursday, Sept. 22. You can request two free tickets and buy up to two additional tickets for $10 each.
“It feels like we’ve been through a lot this year—a tornado, an earthquake, a hurricane, budget reductions, organizational realignment and a new strategic plan,” said Chancellor Randy Woodson. “While we might joke a little about the year so far, we’ve had plenty that could have been a distraction. Our faculty and staff maintained their focus. We need a few minutes to thank them for their hard work, relax and celebrate.”
The tailgate menu includes barbecue, hot dogs, a vegetarian alternative, picnic sides and soft drinks—starting three hours before kickoff (game time has not been set yet) in the paved lot at the corner of Blue Ridge Road and Trinity Road. You’ll need your employee ID to get you and your family in to the event, and to enjoy the free food provided by University Dining.
You’ll also be surrounded with entertainment, including NC State’s live music and face painting, and the ESPN and Jeep interactive entertainment area. You can visit the Fan Zone and enjoy the other game day festivities after you stop by the employee event, which ends an hour before the game.
