NC State’s training table program for athletes medaled in national competition.
The National Association of College and University Food Services awarded a silver to “Eat for Peak Performance” as part of the Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards.
University Dining and Athletics teamed up to create recipes and weekly menus. Major players are Bob Sorochak, Case Dining Hall manager, and Lisa Eberhart and Michelle Rockwell, both registered dietitians.
The program’s goal is to refuel student athletes with lean protein, complex carbohydrates and fruits and vegetables that are naturally high in antioxidants.
