American Idol finalist Scotty McCreery of Garner will be on campus Saturday, May 15, to throw out the first pitch before NC State’s baseball game against Florida State.
The 17-year-old junior at Garner High School advanced to the final round of three on American Idol on Thursday. McCreery, a right-handed pitcher with a good curveball, has put his pitching aspirations on hold for the show.
Saturday’s game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Doak Field at Dail Park. McCreery’s ceremonial first pitch should be sometime between 6:20 and 6:30.
A limited number of tickets are available. In anticipation of a sellout, fans are encouraged to purchase tickets for any children (17 and under) in advance to guarantee entrance into the stadium. Tickets are $7. The ticket office at Doak Field at Dail Park will open at 4 p.m. on Saturday, and the gates will open at 4:30. Standing-room-only tickets will be available for purchase on game day.
Fans may purchase general admission tickets for Saturday’s game online at www.GoPack.com.
All fans are urged to arrive before 5 p.m. to ensure access to parking and the stadium.
