John Taylor, associate vice chancellor for Advancement Services, will serve on the Commission on Philanthropy for one of the world’s largest nonprofit educational associations.
The board of trustees for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), which serves more than 3,400 colleges and universities, selected Taylor for the volunteer leadership role.
Taylor, who joined NC State in 2008, has served as a principal for Advancement Solutions Consulting Group and as vice president for research and data services for CASE. Prior to that, he was the director of alumni and development records at Duke University for nearly 15 years.
A frequent speaker at educational conferences, Taylor received a CASE Crystal Apple Award for outstanding teaching. His published works include Advancement Services: A Foundation for Fund Raising, CASE Management and Reporting Standards (third edition), Handbook of Institutional Advancement and Advancement Services: Research and Technology Support for Fund Raising.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and sociopolitical change from Vanderbilt University and a certificate in nonprofit management from Duke University.
