If you’re looking to drop a few pounds this summer, you can find health and fitness programs here on campus.
For tips on healthier eating and more mindful living, sign up now for Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less. This 15-week program will meet Tuesday through Friday beginning the second week of August. Registration is $30. If you work outside of Wake County, you can bring the program to your work site. For more information, visit the Web site or send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ready for a new fitness program? Carmichael Gym members can take part in fitness programs created for employees. Here are some examples:
- Group Cycling: This indoor cycling class taught by certified instructors includes cardio challenges, varied speeds and resistance levels, hill climbs, flat runs and more. Through July 9, the gym is offering a free demo; the full program begins July 12. The cost is $20 for gym members.
- TRX: Try out this versatile piece of exercise equipment. TRX Suspension Training will allow you to perform hundreds of exercises that build strength, endurance, balance, coordination, flexibility, power and core stability, all at the intensity you choose. The gym’s free demo week runs through July 9. The program begins July 12. The cost is $25 for gym members.
- Women on Weights: Taught by a nationally certified personal trainer, this is a female-only fitness class that focuses on gaining strength without the bulk. The cost is $45 for gym members. The class meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:05 to 12:55 p.m., beginning July 12.
- Men’s Strength and Conditioning: This all-male group fitness class gives men the chance to get toned and gain strength, endurance, and flexibility. Taught by nationally certified personal trainers, the class is designed to challenge and motivate participants. The cost is $45 for gym members. It began July 6 and meets from 12:05 to 12:55 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
