Staff members at NC State’s Joyner Visitor Center and College of Education are getting charged up about electric vehicles. A grant from the North Carolina Solar Center will fund an outreach project.
The grant will allow the Joyner center to convert a 2007 van to all-electric power for use in campus tours. The visitor center lobby will have an educational display about electric vehicles, and an electric vehicle charging station will be installed.
The project is funded as part of $734,384 in grants from the Solar Center, a division of the College of Engineering. The Clean Fuel Advanced Technology Project funds will be used to reduce transportation-related emissions in North Carolina counties.
