Alumnus Lynn W. Eury accepted the 2009 Menscer Cup for exemplary leadership and advancement efforts at the university. Eury, a 1959 graduate, sponsors multiple endowments. Hole No. 5 at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course is named for him. The NC State Foundation established the annual award in 1997 in honor of Darrell and Carolyn Menscer.
